アンタレスの語源としては、現在のところ、日本はもちろん、世界でも一番正解に近い分析だと思います。反論をお待ちします。

１．ギリシャ語のWikiページ

Το όνομα προέρχεται από τη Σύνταξιν («Αλμαγέστη») του Πτολεμαίου και γενικώς ετυμολογείται από τις λέξεις «αντί» και «Άρης», δηλαδή «αντικαταστάτης του Άρη» ή «αντίζηλος του Άρη», μία αναφορά στο παρόμοιο χρώμα και φαινόμενο μέγεθος των δύο ουράνιων σωμάτων. Από αυτή την αιτία εξάλλου οι αστρολόγοι θεωρούσαν τον Σκορπιό τον «οίκο» αυτού του πλανήτη και τον θεό του πολέμου τον «φρουρό» του.

comme Arès　（αντίは、直訳するとau lieuになるけど）
Le nom de l’étoile vient de Ἀντάρης / Antárēs utilisé en grec ancien, signifiant « comme Arès » (Arès est le dieu de la guerre, l’équivalent de Mars dans la mythologie de la Rome antique). Il fait référence à sa couleur rouge, similaire à celle de la planète Mars. Il est réutilisé en Europe à la Renaissance.
Le nom arabe d’Antarès, Qalb al aqrab (قلب العقرب) qui signifie « le cœur du scorpion », est utilisé de façon très ancienne et semble avoir une origine suméro-akkadienne. Il a été directement translittéré en Europe au Moyen Âge pour donner Calbalacrab ou simplement traduit en latin (Cor Scorpionis).

 Its traditional name Antares derives from the Ancient Greek Ἀντάρης, meaning “rival to-Ares” (“opponent to-Mars”), due to the similarity of its reddish hue to the appearance of the planet Mars. The comparison of Antares with Mars may have originated with early Mesopotamian astronomers. Some scholars have speculated that the star may have been named after Antar, or Antarah ibn Shaddad, the Arab warrior-hero celebrated in the pre-Islamic poems Mu’allaqat.

４．スペイン語のWikiページ
El nombre de Antares proviene del griego anti Ares (Άντάρης) y significa «el rival de Ares» o «el opuesto a Ares» debido a su color rojizo, ya que en el cielo nocturno rivalizaba con el planeta Marte (Ἄρης, Ares en griego) que pasa muy cerca de esta estrella cada 1 año y 11 meses. Su distintivo color rojizo ha hecho de ella un objeto de interés en muchas sociedades del pasado. 　

５．日本語のWikiページ
正しくはギリシャ語で「火星に似たもの」を意味する Άντάρης に由来する。
中国古代では、「大火」と呼ばれた。

６．では、最終的にどう考えるか
私の好みでは、フランス語のcomme Arèsが一番の正解だと感じる。

火星とアンタレスはなんとなく似ている。赤さ、明るさは少し違う（アンタレス+0.91、火星はマイナス等級）。

さて、最初に名付けるときに、
「名前どうする？」「なんか火星に似た星だよね」「じゃ、火星に似た星で、」
「名前どうする？」「戦いの神Marsの副官によくないか」「じゃ、火星の副官で、」
「名前どうする？」「赤さなんか、火星のライバルと言ってもいいのじゃないか」「じゃ、火星のライバルで、」
「いろいろ意見出たけど、総合して、«αντί» και «Άρης»として」「Αντάρης」に決定しよう。
こんな感じで決まったのではないかと想像します。
